Skin Type N - NORMAL

Skin Type N - NORMAL

Characteristics of normal skin:
Don’t let the word “normal” fool you - as it’s more “ideal” than “normal” and this ideal is defintely not the norm. Normal indicates a balanced conflation of hydration (water) and oil (sebum) of the skin system, resulting in a healthy suppleness and shine, which is rarely the case with most people. So if you do have normal skin, your pores are fine, texture is smooth, and skin is less associated with skin problems from skin types of either extremities.

Skin problems commonly associated with normal skin:
“Normal” does not mean you are insusceptible to the many factors that can alter its state. As early as age 25, our skin’s hydration level begins to decline, and with time our sebum production as well. Therefore, normal skin is prone to dehydration and dryness, and with the accumulation of damages from UV, pollution, stress…etc, the skin may experience hyperpigmentation and the eventual condition of loss of elasticity.

Skincare routine tips for normal skin:
-hydration with Hyaluronic Acid, preferably of lower molecular weight to provide below-the-surface hydration
-moisturization with Squalane and other non-comedogenic plant oils to seal moisture and prevent trans-epidermal water loss
-incorporate antioxidants such as Vitamin C, Vitamin E, and Retinol to combat daily stressors, while reducing hyperpigmentation
