Before going out during the day, dispense a dollar-sized amount of sunscreen onto the palm of your hand. Gently pat and spread it evenly over the face. It is recommended to reapply sunscreen every 1.5 hours.

This sunscreen can be mixed with other Skin Need physical sunblock to customize the color and makeup effect, providing an instant brightening and complexion-improving benefit for the skin.

While those with oil-prone skin tend to stay away from sunscreens due to the misconception that they are rich and trigger breakouts, users can seek out sunscreens that are oil-free, non-comedogenic with a weightless comfort, protecting the skin from UV radiation without the worry of sunscreen induced breakouts.

Titanium Dioxide and Zinc Oxide are physical sunscreen ingredients recommended by US FDA and are skin safe and reef safe. They form a physical barrier on skin surface to deflect sunlight, are not absorbed by the skin, and therefore do not cause internal disruptions like many chemical sunscreen ingredients. The use of post-consumer recycled plastic packaging also adds a sustainable element to the product; and the complimentary serums provided allow users to customize product texture and function based on changing skin conditions.

Q&A

How can I create a personalized sunscreen by blending water-based and oil-based serums?

With the constantly changing external and internal environment, the water-soluble and oil-soluble serums can freely blend with our sunscreen series to customize texture and functionality to adapt to changes. When the skin tends to produce excess sebum, create a more lightweight texture by adding 1-2 pumps of water-based serum into sunscreen. If the skin becomes more dry, increase the sunscreen’s nourishing feature by adding 1-3 drops of oil-based serum. When the skin is irritated and dehydrated, add 1-2 drops of both serums to hydrate the skin and boost moisture retention.

Why choose physical sunscreen over chemical sunscreen?

"Physical sunscreens" work by creating a reflective barrier on the skin's surface through physical principles deflecting harmful UV rays. Ingredients such as Titanium Dioxide and Zinc Oxide are such ingredients recommended by the FDA, and when used in non-nano forms, does not penetrate the skin and therefore will not pose the adverse effects seen in a few chemical sunscreens. Hence, physical sunscreens are suitable for sensitive skin and children.

In contrast, "chemical sunscreens" use UV absorbers to convert UV radiation into lower-energy forms. While they may feel lighter on the skin compared to physical sunscreens, their smaller molecules can penetrate the skin, potentially causing allergic reactions. Hence, physical sunscreens are generally recommended for their stability and skin-friendly nature.

What do SPF and PA signify?

"SPF" stands for Sun Protection Factor, measuring a sunscreen's protection against UVB rays. A higher SPF indicates stronger UVB protection. "PA" stands for Protection Grade of UVA, evaluating protection against UVA rays. PA ratings range from PA, PA++, PA+++, to PA++++, with higher grades offering better UVA protection. However, higher SPF and PA values may burden the skin, clog pores, and heighten allergy risks.

Is a higher SPF better?

According to international standards, SPF 15 blocks about 93% of UVB rays, while SPF 30 blocks around 97%. For normal skin, using SPF 20 to 30 with a PA++ rating is adequate for daily sun protection.
